Tag Question

Definition: কথোপকথনের সময়  Sentence এর  শেষে শ্রোতার সমর্তন বা স্বীকৃতি  চেয়ে  য়ে একটি  প্রশ্ন  সংযোগ  করা হয় ,উহা  কে  Tag Question বলে।

Tag Question এর নিয়মঃ

১. মূল Sentence টি অপরিবর্তিত অবস্হায় বসে ্‌।

২.  মূল Sentense এর শেষে comma ( , ) বসে ।

৩.  Tag question এর Subject সর্বদা মূল Sentence এর Subject এর Pronoun হয় ।

৪.  Tag question গটনে Auxiliary verb ব্যবহৃত হয় ।

৫.  Auxiliary verb এর contracted বা সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ হয় ।

৬.  Sentence এ Auxiliary verb না থাকলে Do, Does, Did বসে ।

৭. Affirmative Sentence এর Negative tag হয় এবং Negative Sentence এর Affirmative tag হয় ।

৮. Present tense এ do বা does হয় ।

৯. Past tense এ Auxiliary verb হিসাব did বসে ।

১০. Tag form এর শেষে অবশ্য্ই (?) বসে ।

Some importance rules of Tag Question

  1. Sentence এ যদি কোন Auxiliary verb নো থাকে অর্থাৎ যদি শুধু Principle verb থাকে তাহলে Tag question  এ do/ does/did ইত্যাদি বসে ।                                                                                    বিঃদ্রঃ- Verb1 হলে do/does বসে। verb2 হলে did বসে।                                                            Example:                                                                                                                                                           a)  The birds flew in the sky, didn’t they ?                                                                                     b)  the birds fly does not fly in the sky, doesn’t it ?                                                                     c)  fire burns, doesn’t it ?                                                                                                                  d)  Ice flowers on water, doesn’t it ?
  2. Tense থেকে কিছু Examples:                                                                                                                             a)  I am happy, aren’t I ?                                                                                                                    b)  He is a wise man, isn’t he ?                                                                                                         c)  You are too late, aren’t you ?                                                                                                       d)  The boy was intelligent, wasn’t he ?,                                                                                         e)  The farmers were poor, weren’t they ?
  3. Sentence থেকে কিছু examples :                                                                                                           Imperative Sentence:- প্রথমেই  verb বা ক্রীয়া দিয়ে যে ‍sentence  শুরু হয় তাকে Imperative sentence বলে। যেমনঃ-                                                                                                                                                i)  Do the work                          ii)  Sit down                                                                                   iii)  Don’t make a noise            iv)  Don’t run in the rain
  4.  Imperative sentence কে will you বা won’t you দিয়ে করতে হয়।                                                     Examples :                                                                                                                                
    a)     Come here, won’t you?
    b)     Kindly take it, won’t you?
    c)      Please lend me your book, will you?
    d)     Don’t make a noise, will you?
